Big News Linked to Mahadev Satta App: Lawyer Who Defended Key Accused Arrested in London
Raipur: A major development has emerged in connection with the Mahadev Satta App case. Advocate Vijay Agrawal, who has represented fugitive diamond businessman Mehul Choksi, has been arrested in London over alleged sexual assault involving two women.
His personal assistant, Manpreet Kaur, has also been arrested in connection with the case.
The arrest has drawn attention in Chhattisgarh because Agrawal has also represented an accused in the Mahadev Satta App-linked money laundering case. The names of Saurabh Chandrakar, Shubham Soni, Harishankar Tibrewal, Girish Talreja and Suraj Chokhani have figured prominently in investigations and legal proceedings related to the Mahadev Satta App case.
Agrawal represented Mahadev case accused Suraj Chokhani
Vijay Agrawal represented Suraj Chokhani in the money laundering case linked to the Mahadev Satta App. His name appears among the advocates representing Chokhani in the Supreme Court order dated April 2, 2025.
Agrawal also appeared for Chokhani during the Supreme Court proceedings on his bail plea in July 2025. Chokhani was subsequently granted bail.
The Mahadev Satta App case has involved investigations and proceedings concerning several prominent names, including Saurabh Chandrakar, Shubham Soni, Harishankar Tibrewal, Girish Talreja and Suraj Chokhani.
Also represented Mehul Choksi
Vijay Agrawal has represented fugitive diamond businessman Mehul Choksi in legal proceedings. Choksi is wanted in India in connection with the Punjab National Bank fraud case.
Agrawal has also been involved in legal proceedings concerning Choksi’s extradition. His arrest in London has therefore brought renewed attention to his association with high-profile financial crime cases.
Four sexual assault charges in London
According to reports, Vijay Agrawal was arrested on August 11 from a property in the Mayfair area of London. He has been charged in connection with four alleged sexual assaults involving two women.
His personal assistant Manpreet Kaur has also been charged with allegedly intentionally assisting or encouraging the alleged offences.
Both were produced before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 13. Their case has subsequently been sent to Southwark Crown Court for further proceedings.
Mahadev case connection draws attention after London arrest
Agrawal’s arrest has attracted attention in Chhattisgarh because the lawyer who has represented Mehul Choksi has also represented Suraj Chokhani, an accused in the Mahadev Satta App-linked money laundering case.
The names of Saurabh Chandrakar, Shubham Soni, Harishankar Tibrewal, Girish Talreja and Suraj Chokhani have emerged in connection with investigations into the Mahadev Satta App case.
However, it is important to clarify that representing an accused as a lawyer does not establish the lawyer’s involvement in the alleged crime. Likewise, the allegations against Vijay Agrawal in London are currently subject to judicial proceedings, and he remains legally presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
