बेंगलुरु: कोविड 19 के नए वेरिएंट ‘ओमीक्रोन’ के फैलने की आशंका के बीच बेंगलुरु में दक्षिण अफ्रीका के दो नागरिकों में कोरोना वायरस की पुष्टि हुई है और उनके नमूने आगे की जांच के लिए भेजे गए ताकि वेरिएंट का पता लगाया जा सके।

हालांकि दोनों डेल्टा वेरिएंट से संक्रमित हैं। अधिकारी ने बताया कि दोनों को क्वारंटीन कर दिया गया है और चिंता की कोई बात नहीं है।

बता दें कि दुनिया भर में कोरोना के नए वैरिएंट ओमाइक्रोन को लेकर चिंता का माहौल है। बेंगलुरु के रूरल डेप्युटी कमिश्नर के श्रीनिवास ने बताया कि दोनों पॉजिटिव पाए गए यात्रियों की आगे जांच कराई जा रही है कि वे ओमाइक्रॉन वैरिएंट से संक्रमित हैं या नहीं। अगले 48 घंटे में टेस्ट के रिजल्ट्स आ जाएंगे।

दोनों यात्रियों को क्वारंटीन सेंटर्स में भेज दिया गया है। श्रीनिवास ने बताया कि बेंगलुरु एयरपोर्ट पर कोरोना के 10 हाई-रिस्क वाले देशों से तकरीबन 584 लोग उतरे हैं। इनमें से 94 दक्षिण अफ्रीका से आए हैं।
