पिछले दो सालों में कोरोना लाखों जानें ले चुका है। कई देशों को यह संक्रमण इतनी बुरी तरह तोड़ चुका है कि उनकी अर्थव्यवस्था चार से पांच साल पीछे खिसक गई है। इस बीच एक बार फिर से कोरोना के नए वैरिएंट ने दुनिया में दस्तक दे दी है, यह नया ‘बी.1.1.529’ वैरिएंट दक्षिण अफ्रीका और बोत्सवाना में मिला है। वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि म्यूटेशन के मामले में इस नए वैरिएंट ने अब तक के सामने आए सभी वैरिएंट को पीछे छोड़ दिया है। यह नया संक्रमण डेल्टा से भी ज्यादा खतरनाक है और उससे कहीं ज्यादा संक्रामक है।

बताया जा रहा है कि यह वैरिएंट डेल्टा और डेल्टा प्लस से भी ज्यादा खतरनाक है।यूके की स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षा एजेंसी ने एक बयान में कहा, “वैरिएंट में बड़ी संख्या में स्पाइक प्रोटीन म्यूटेशन के साथ-साथ वायरल जीनोम के अन्य हिस्सों में म्यूटेशन शामिल हैं। ये संभावित रूप से जैविक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण म्यूटेशन हैं जो टीके, उपचार और ट्रांसमिशन के संबंध में वायरस के व्यवहार को बदल सकते हैं। इसके लिए अधिक जांच और सावधानी बरतने की आवश्यकता है।

कोरोना के इस नए वैरिएंट के संक्रमण का अंदाजा सिर्फ इस बार से लगाया जा सकता है कि भारत ने भी इसको लेकर अलर्ट जारी कर दिया है। भारत सरकार की ओर से सभी राज्यों को निर्देश जारी किए गए हैं कि दक्षिण अफ्रीका, हांगकांग और बोत्सवाना से आने वाले सभी यात्रियों की कड़ी जांच व परीक्षण किया जाए। इसको लेकर केंद्रीय राज्य सचिव राजेश भूषण ने सभी राज्यों व केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के मुख्य सचिवों को पत्र लिखा है। इस खतरे को देखते हुए विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने भी शुक्रवार को आपात बैठक बुला ली है।
